Valentine's Day Party Game - STEM Activity

Piece of My Heart

This is a fun STEM challenge that is perfect for a Valentine's Day Party.  All you need are brick building pieces and jumbo popsicle sticks. It's perfect for the older kids who are hard to find ways to keep entertained at class parties.

In this fast-paced STEM challenge, teams use the supplies provided to try to build the the heart shown on the challenge card. The teams must work quickly moving the bricks to the table using their sticks to balance each brick while transfering them. The team that correctly builds the heart first wins the game! 



What You’ll Need for This Game

  • Jumbo sticks- Each child will get one
  • Building Bricks - feel free to add in a few extra sizes if you want.  
    • You will need the following sizes for each team to build the brick heart.

       

9 - 2x4 Bricks

5 - 2x2 Bricks

1 - 2x6 Brick


 

Game Prep

Each team will a set of the 15 bricks listed on the challenge card. Each student will get one jumbo stick. On one side of the room will be the challenge card picture and on the other end is a chair or desk with the bricks for the team. Each team will get
